Heidiland, setting of the famous fairytale Heidi, is a small region in eastern Switzerland stretching from the famous Spa resort of Bad Ragaz to Weesen at the end of Lake Walen. Just an hour away from Zürich, the beautiful scenery of the area is a world away from the city with its mountains and valleys, alpine lakes and pastures, waterfalls and gorges.

Following a city tour of Zürich, your journey takes you around Lake Zürich to Rapperswil, where you will have time at leisure. Rapperswil is perfect for exploring on foot, with its medieval castle on the shores of Lake Zürich and picturesque old town. Crossing the Ricken Pass with its panoramic mountain views, and through the lovely countryside of the Toggenburg region, you will arrive at Vaduz, capital of Liechtenstein, where you can enjoy time at leisure. A short trip takes you back into Switzerland where you will arrive in the nearby Maienfeld area, the setting of the story of Heidi with its lush green fields and valleys. In the summer, visit Heidi’s village nearby, with its typical mountain houses surrounded by flocks of goats; the nearby village of Werdenberg is well worth a visit in winter. The tour ends with your return journey along Lake Walen, nestled at the foot of the towering Churfirsten mountain range, on your route back to Zürich.
